Auto-Craft Engine Case

With you, the serious racer in mind, we have designed and machined the ultimate engine case. The case is cast of 356-T6 aluminum. The castings are flawless, with zero porosity, which makes the strongest possible part. Prototype cases were X-rayed from six sides by an independent lab and received an aircraft spec.

Case features:

  • Four parts: two case halves, a front cover and a rear engine plate

  • Case halves located with six dowel pin sleeves

  • Main line bore is Type 4 with Chrysler bearings

  • Two oil scavenge pick-ups

  • Thicker main bearing webs

  • Accepts either a two stage or three stage dry or wet sump system

  • 7/16 chromoly main studs 

  • Machined for Chevy type roller lifters

  • Bolt on push rod tube side plates

  • Six stud holes per cylinder, drilled and tapped

  • Front cover is a bolt-on component part and an O-ring seal for the main oil galley

  • Front cover can be easily removed for access to the camshaft gear

  • Ability to change your cam timing without splitting the case halves

  • Rear engine plate is dowel pinned for location

  • O-ring seals for both main oil galley and camshaft

  • Avaiable bores sizes:  94mm and 101.6mm​​​

The Autocraft Wet Sump is a cast aluminum 3 quart oil sump, that is custom designed exclusively attach to the bottom of the Autocraft engine case. The bottom opening is machined to accept the Autocraft oil sump pickup plate. This sump can be ordered with the engine case, or can be purchased separately on its own.
